The Story of Yumekashi Kotoyo

The name of our store, "Kotoyo," has the same meaning as "yoroz" (everything or anything), and was given to our first store owner by the head priest of a temple in Gifu.

After completing his training at a Japanese confectionery shop, the great-grandfather started out in business under the name "Kotoyoken." It stocked not only Japanese confectionery but also miscellaneous goods and fresh fish, and sold everything from light snacks to everything else. However, his father changed the name to "Kotoyo Confectionery Shop" with the aim of specializing in Japanese confectionery.

After that, I returned from my training in Japanese confectionery as the third generation owner and decided to name the business "Yumekashi Kobo Kotoyo" with the desire to imagine and serve dreamy sweets.
The three letters "Kotoyo" have been deeply cherished by my predecessors, my predecessors, and myself, the third generation, in keeping with the times.
I would like to continue to cherish it.
